I find that 1/2 a bottle is perfect, no after effects at all, but I suppose that we are all different.
I think that I could drink a little more 20 years ago, but I rarely had 1 bottle a day. (maybe on an outing)
I suppose that it also depends on how many hours they are from before dinner until the end of the evening, 3, 4, 5, hours??

My wife and I used to share a bottle every night but it has gone up to two - one each,possibly. I think she must drink it because I don't notice it going down. It doesn't seem to harm me (that I notice anyway, except in the pocket) but i would advise against finishing with a glass of brandy and malt is a real mistake! :)
