I am really enjoying. A glass before dinner, one with the meal, and I usually finish the bottle during the evening. Am I over indulging here?

Follow Ups:
While I certainly can drink a bottle, or very rarely more, I've found 1/2 bottle (2.5 glasses) about right ... for me. More than that, I don't sleep well, just feel too much of a buzz to be healthy long-term.I also like to see what a young wine does after a day or two vacuumed. This often improves the wine so sometimes I wonder if by drinking the whole bottle I'm missing something. Some old wines fall apart quickly so saving those is not an option.
And one word of, hopefully obvious, warning ... layoff the Acetaminophen!!!

Wouldn't the "two glasses per day" recommendation vary for different individuals? For example, wouldn't the recommended amount for a man weighing 250 lbs. differ from that for one of 150 pounds?
There was a study that came out a couple years back (I believe in the New England Journal of Medicine) which tested the overall benefits and detriments to red wine consumption. Surprisingly, they found an overall benefit up to 5 glasses per night because of the polyphenols. After that, the harmful effects on your liver outweighed the benefits. Of course 5 glasses of wine could dull your mind, hurt memory, cause obesity or depression... Also reds vary in terms of polyphenol concentration. Two per night maximum seems much more reasonable for daily consumption.

...I'd say that if you drink a full bottle every night it would be the same as having 4 to 5 mixed drinks every night. Wouldn't we call that person an 'alcoholic'?I limit my own personal consumption to a glass a night from Sun. - Thurs., but 2 glasses or half a bottle doesn't seem excessive. And there ARE health benefits. Then on Fri. and Sat. I might drink a whole bottle spaced out over the evening. Does that make me 'almost an alcoholic'?
Two problems with drinking a whole bottle every night - first I don't need all of those extra calories, and second, I don't sleep as well and have to get up for work in the morning.

Overindulging is tough to say...One bottle is approximately 5 decent glasses of wine (and hence the equivalent of 5 beers or 5 shots.)Strictly from a health standpoint everything I've read suggests that 2 glasses per day for men is "ideal" from a healthy heart standpoint. More than that the benefits are outweighed by the negatives and less than that the heart healthy benefits are just not significant enough. My source for this info: the Harvard men's health guide, which is the output of numerous men's health studies conducted by Harvard and other research centers. Other sources I've read support this but I cannot recall them specifically. Women benefit most from 1 glass daily.
From an enjoyment standpoint I find 1/2 to 1 bottle a "nice" amount to drink, especially during the course of an entire evening.
So health wise you are doing yourself no good, but from a life's enjoyment standpoint you are in the sweet spot. Hope that helps a little.

I find that 1/2 a bottle is perfect, no after effects at all, but I suppose that we are all different.
I think that I could drink a little more 20 years ago, but I rarely had 1 bottle a day. (maybe on an outing)
I suppose that it also depends on how many hours they are from before dinner until the end of the evening, 3, 4, 5, hours??

My wife and I used to share a bottle every night but it has gone up to two - one each, possibly. I think she must drink it because I don't notice it going down. It doesn't seem to harm me (that I notice anyway, except in the pocket) but i would advise against finishing with a glass of brandy and malt is a real mistake! :)
