Gosh... I guess I would have to say, because they are fresh in my mind, it would be a three way tie between:
Cote-Rôtie, Gerin "Champign Le Signeur" 1998 (I am impatient.. The good news is; I have more!!)Ribera Del Duero, Vega-Sicilia "Unico" 1981( Still lots of bright fruit.. Unbelievable!)
Vouvray Molleux, Huet "Cuvee Constance" 1995(Again, impatient...)
I wholeheartedly agree that sharing with friends over dinner is always the perfect venue for wine drinking (with the excception of certain wines in one on one encounters)Cheers.

Sean,
Nice reds, I haven't tried your particular Vouvray, What's it like?

The 'Cuvee Constance' is a dessert wine. To my palate, I liked that 1995 better than the various vintages of the Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes (Blasphemy, I know) that I have tried. It has a very soft onset; supple and mouth filling. Then, the various stone fruits seem to jump out from behind the tongue with a vengeance. The finish on this wine is the gem, however, with waves and waves of the different fruits which seem to continue forever. My body literally shook the first time I tasted it trying to contain the experience. It is an amazing wine. Enjoyable now, but built to last.
