In particular, Nino Franco Rustico. I've tried about ten different kinds and this one is at the top of my podium right now. If anyone drinks prosecco and has a favorite brand/type, I would like to know of it.

Just had "GIGI PROSECCO" from Trader Joe's. Organically grown grapes. At $9.99 it was very good and extremely dry. Compare that with MIONETTO's Organic offering from Whole Foods at $12.99. Mionetto's had an odd assortment of flavors. Good, but not better than Gigi.
Cheaper, is Costco's Kirkland Brand of Prosecco for $6.99. Very Fruity.
Could drink it everyday!
...my wife loves champagne and likes prosecco for a change.
I prefer champagne because the bubbles are smaller and it can have a smoother, more balanced flavor.
My favorite is CA Roederer Estate Brut from Costco for about $16.
Give it a try.
Pear fruit tastes predominate. I drink a lot of champagne however, not just to celebrate; it's a good food wine.
Just had a terrific bottle of NV Pierre Peters blanc de blanc. It was almost as good as the 2004 Dom Perignon we had a week earlier to celebrate my wife's recovery from a major medical issue. At 1/3 the price a bargain for the quality.

I will try that. I too favor champagne overall but, like your wife I like Prosecco for a change. I also find it often easier for horderves before a meal. Some Proseccos are so-so, and some are quite good (like Nino Franco Rustico). But for $16, yes I will get a bottle of that Roederer Estate.
Originally prosecco was a good alternative to inexpensive bubbly. Seems that the prices have gone up with it's current popularity.
I personally would rather have a good traditonal method over a Charmat method (prosecco) if the price is anywhere close.
Roederer Estate is consistently one of my favorites for the money.
I drink it all. But lately its been Domaine De Fourn from Limoux. As cheap as Prosecco and I prefer it to some $50 true champagnes. Its a direct import in Portland but I bet they have versions for other importer/distributors around the country
...that's kind of fun.
I'm unable to identify a brand equivalent and, being on the east coast it's probably going to be found here. But I will keep it in mind because you never know.
