Home PC Place

PCs, Macs, software, viruses, highjackers. It's all here.

Are you sure?

Make certain that you actually save the configuration. Some of the BIOS dialogs can be confusing - you choose to Save (often by hitting F10, but it should be shown pretty clearly on screen) and then a dialog box appears with a default answer of 'No' - to _not_ save. Newer BIOS tend to be more logical; you choose 'Save' and the dialog box asking if you're sure has a default answer of 'Yes'.

What is the make/model of the computer or the motherboard?

Does all of the memory show as installed in Windows XP?
