My nomination for heaviest wine bottle

Picked up a bottle of J. Bookwalter "Conflict" at Costco. It's a blend, heavy on the Merlot.

But the true heavy was the bottle. I was so amazed that I weighed it. Empty, 2.5 lbs! I weighed a bottle of Bedrock, which uses pretty hefty bottles, 2.75 lbs. fully loaded!

What is the point?
