I bought a 750 ml bottle of Trocken about 30 years ago (today many are found as 375 ml). It was the real deal and aet me back a cool cnote even then. Two of us and our dates sat down one fine Saturday evening to partake (as an aperitif) and two hours after the first pour, my typically oh-so-arid stem was still half full. Talk about cloying and power-packed...it was like drinking white wine concentrate. It wasn't off-putting, rather it was so intense and mouth filling that a tiny sip would just wash through you like a grape tsunami. Four of us barely put a dent in it that eve but it certainly was an eye-opener and I'm glad for having given it a shot but , ultimately, it was just too much and too sweet for my tastes.
YMMV
