With most guests that I have, I'd simply say 'Oh dear, we already have a bottle set out for dinner, could we open your later, perhaps?'.When I bring a bottle of wine, I have no expectations, myself, unless (as sometimes happened) someone asked me to bring some wine. (People only ask me to bring red wines, though :-)
