I'd like as much info on my motor as possible, Merc. 40 HP 2 stroke has "402" on motor cover and serial# 3347398. What fuel/oil mix ratio should I use? Thanks, Heinz

50:1 fuel oil, using TCW3 oil. Also use mid-grade gas.

I have that maotor. Like i said before i do not know the year, but the guy i bought it from told me to mix it 50:1. I've ran about 10 gallons of gas threw it so far, and it seems to run fine, not a lot of smoke either.

i have a 40 hp merc(402)..i am also trying to find out what year it is. i can not find the serial #. Where would i look fer it. If you could help please do. Plus if you have any info of where i can go to find the year out, that would help too.
