Hi Bob,Have only seen one of these, a Johnson, and it was not for sale. In the 50's and 60's both Evinrude and Johnson built a folding shaft (sideways and 'up' hinge) into some of their 3hp twin outboards. I believe the exhaust exited under water... These gems are quite collectable and a bit rare.

Ihave a 3 hp johnson folding shaft motor model number jwf22c serial number e2812336 I believe it is a 1967 model. Does anyone know how many of these were made?

HiI have a Johnson Model JHF 22C 3HP with a fold up lower unit and a fiberglass carrying case. The motor runs fine, has a few scratches, but is in fine condition for it's age.
