    Based on the website, the motor mount is capable of taking a 3.5 hp outboard. However, I am not sure if the boat itself can handle a 3.5 hp (given the small transom area). Does anyone own one and has put a 3.5 hp on it?

      3.5 hp motors are small. Of course, you could always go with a 2 hp motor which is even smaller and lighter. Check ebay.
