Is anyone familiar with the small sailboat called a Penguin? It's a wooden boat. I believe it was used for teaching sailing in the 1940's-1950's. I have an old one I'd like to restore and would like some info. thanks a bunch for any response.

The Penguin is an active one-design class and yes it has been around a long time. At one time (1995) Donald E. Casey of 220 Lagoon Drive, Northfield, IL 60093 had information on registered Penguins. If you have a hull number he can tell you to whom the number was assigned. If it was not officially measured he can probably tell you who to call for information.

If I had a question about restoring a wooden boat, I'd take it to the Wooden Boat forum at: http://media5.hypernet.com/ubb/ultimatebb.phpI would thing the fine folks over there would be more than willing to help. They have always been nice to me.
