My 3.5 hp Gamefisher stalls out continually when trying to cruise across the lake. Starts fine runs fine for abour a minute then proceeds to stall out. Seems I can prolong the stalling out by pulling out the choke, but it still stalls eventully after a short period. Any suggestions?

This sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Have you tried keeping it going by squeezing the priming bulb? If this works, you need to examine your fuel system, starting at the tank. Do you have the vent open on your gas can? If not, let it breathe man! I had the exact same symptoms from an old merc 6 horse, and it turned out to be a little mesh diaphram in front of the fuel filter. The priming bulb forced fuel through it, but the natural suction of the motor couldn't manage it. My (not so) friendly outboard mechanic charged me my weeks wages to replace that little jigger. Hope you have better luck!
