I need some suggestions on a nice port to give to a friend. I believe he prefers the tawny ports. I have about $100 to spend. Also, what's the best way to can I ship it to him (from Texas to New York)?

Follow Ups:
No one is going out an a limb here, so I will - I've always been partial to Taylor-Fladgate ports.

After many years I've come to the conclusion that most new world wines have one big shortcoming.
And in a way similarities.
Lot's of them have nice flavors upfront, good mouthfeel, but in general lack depth and complexity of flavours in the aftertaste.
Sure some of them do have length, but in general it is just
the same initial flavor that carries on.
Rarely do they surprise you with complex flavours
What's your opinion??

Find a good local wine merchant! Any tawny port is ready to drink...look for a 20 or 30 year designated. They usually run any where from $30 to $80, and they're all good! Pack it in an over-sized box with lots of bubble wrap and ship UPS. They won't ask what it is.

I'd prefer something drinkable now or in the next couple of years. But that's not an ABSOLUTE requirement.
