I was once a maniacal wine collector. I still have an extensive collection stored in my mother's temperature stable basement in another, more northern state. My dilemma - Due to health issues, I can no longer drink the stuff. Where can one sell off large quantities of classified growth Bordeaux (mostly 82's, some few 83's, plus a scattering of a few other vintages, including '85, '75), vintage port from '77, '63 (and a few from '63), D'Yquem, plus many other rare and interesting wines - all carefully stored in a humidity and temperature controlled environment?

You got problems. If you understand what classified growths are, know good vintage years and Y'quem, but still keep your wine at your mom's house and never heard of Sotheby's I don't think anything I tell you could help.
Concerning your mom's house - what did you do before your health went bad and you wanted a drink?

A couple options:Auctions. New York, Chicago, and San Francisco are the major US centers for auctions, and if the bottles are stored well, or if you have complete cases/original crates, you can do well.
The Classifieds at the back of Wine Spectator have ads for individuals/companies offering to purchase wine collections. Probably won't get as much as at auction, but probably far less work.
