For you cheapies out there. My wife tried some Fetzer Sirah and said it tasted very good, better than the other Fetzers, which we also think are decent for the price. I haven't had a chance to try it yet as not many stores carry it. Anybody else agree? Or maybe just an idea for you who buy in the cheapo $7 US price range.

Try Beckmen's ' Cuvee le Bec '; it can be had for around $12 with a discount.

Try a Yellow Tail Shiraz, it is a
from Australia and everybody I have
served it to has loved it. It is
about the same price as the Fetzer.

I'll try that one. Another I like in that price range is the Rosemount Syrah/Cabernet. A little more interesting taste than your typical cheapie Cabernet.

I like the Fetzer Syrah better because it's more complex and has more tobacco and oak, with a more lingering aftertaste. My wife likes the Rosemount better. It's fruitier and a little lighter and easier to drink.
Tried the Fetzer Syrah. It's very big and full and has a pleasant smoky aftertaste, though not as thorough as a better quality wine. We really like it for its price. Would go well with a cigar.
