This wine is hard to find retail and best obtained directly from the vinter, but this is one of the better zins I had last year, and a good buy at $18. Excellently balanced, and will probably do very well over the next few years. Also, their '99 Cab is outstanding, although for the price ($40) it's not quite as good a value. Still, its definitely worth giving a try, and will really show off what the Santa Cruz Mountains has to offer.
Follow Ups:
I notice you linked to another winery below. Bonny Doon wines are widely distributed and generally available "off the shelf".I much prefer my wines to be readily available as opposed to ordering from wineries. There are far too many choices for me to think of mailing for wines, but if I did, I wouldn't buy from a CA. winery that called their dessert wine Porto.
I concede that Port has become a generic term for a style of wine,, but will not yield on [Op]porto.
I think you're referring to my other post concerning the Ca'del Solo Barbera. The link I posted there was the first that showed up at the top of my Google search that contained prices. I was using it for comparison purposes only and not as an endorsement of the vendor.
