A colleague and I were discussing wines today, when we hit the oft' pondered question 'is there a wine you don't like?'..........After the usual...'well............I'm not too keen on....' thoughts, the only wine we agreed on, nae, the only wine either of us offered up, was Beaujolais.............Name that wine ............
Follow Ups:
It's like any wine. Bad beaujolais is bad. Good beaujolais is a joy. Nouveaux beaujolais, however, is gay. Perhaps this is what you were thinking of?
HELLO!-Gay Wine? Is there such a thing? Does gay wine come from gay grapes? Maybe it's gay because of the producers? Check us out Rainbow Ridge Wines at www.rainbowridgewines.com to find the answers to these foreboding questions.

I know of ( excluding Piat D'Or etc) are Italian whites. What makes me laugh is that when they make a decent one, we're expected to pay a small fortune for it.
Ok mr O'bligatory,
i'll explain about italian white wine. Simple - market forces. The DOCG regulation is similar to the French Appelation rules - and covers fermentation methods. This is critical to how the wine tastes, and also to the regional identity of the wines. So, many producers try to simplify this age-old process to save time/money, and end up with frankly average wines at best. However, those producers who do undertake the whole process properly in its entirity, end up with high to very high quality wines, on a regular basis. Upon this they build thier trading reputation, and as europe is a large market, demand will be high, and as the production method is labour intensive production will be low ergo high prices. For an oral lesson in italian winemaking art, break the piggy bank, and find(yes it will take some hunting) the best campofiorin you can(t) afford. Yes it's red, but it will show you what all the fuss is about with the traditional winery techniques..
Hmmmm
