I keep the labels for my wine journal. I soak the bottles in warm water but it never seems to come out nicely.Any suggestions?
Follow Ups:
use a strong paint remover ,like methol ethyl karotaine ..the spelling is not correct, i usually just hear it called "m.e.k" but any stong type should kill label and glue faster then a bum downs a bottle of night train
Hi Sean,
Not sure about the States but in UK active ingredient in paint stripper is methylene chloride (perhaps banned in States).M.E.K. - Methyl Ethyl "Ketone", (the one that smells of toffee), should be banned everywhere..has a flash point of -21 degrees or so!
ie, don't take your cardigan off nearby!!
Would probably do the trick though..would we still be able to read the label?

Leave it soak overnight... the label should be lying in the sink the next morning... if that producer really glues em on.. go for a image from the web!
squid,
The secret that I used to use, 100% successfully... Cold water.
Warm water reacts with paper/adhesive.
Also don't be in a hurry, then the label virtually falls free.
Good luck
