Hi, new to the world of wine and look forward to learning more. I have a question about food pairing. I work in a resturant and many of my customers want a salad as a main meal. I have been told to steer away from wine with vinager but many people insist on it. What kind of wine should I serve with a vinaigrette dressing with fruit undertones? thanks. Nic.

Never believe a rule that says "Don't serve wine". What wine to serve with salad (with a vinagrette dressing with fruit undertones? Nothing terribly grand. Probably something on the light side with high acidity, could be red or white. Since you work in the restaurant you should try what you have on your wine list and see how you like it with your salad. Preferably it would be something available by the glass.
Jeff,
It is early in the morning when I am reading your response - I think its a non sequitur, but I am not awake yet - could you help me out here?
Best, Jim
It sounds like by the time I get out there you'll be gone somewhere else. But I'll help anyway I can, just let me know.
