Anyone seen the new VW Jetta? It would appear that the demise of German auto design is complete, now that VW has jumped on the Ugly Bus.
Its nose is even uglier, and the rear, well...who cares?
Did they rip off the design of the current Toyota Corolla?

Why Toyota? Looks like about any of 20 other cars on the road today.

  more like the current Corolla than anything else. The rear, especially the taillight treatment, looks like it was simply lifted from the Japanese car.
  And that grotesque front end...at least it wasn't "borrowed".
  Anyway, the car was most likely designed for the U.S. market--Europeans have never bought the Jetta in appreciable numbers, preferring the Golf overwhelmingly.
  The new Jetta is being built in Mexico.
