Wine for NY's eve...

Picked up a bottle of Mumm Napa Brut Rose (we are having pizza and a salad).

Didn't go to a wine shop, but noticed that Trader Joe's and Ralphs Market (Kroeger) did not carry any sparklers from France this year (the one exception being PJ Flower bottle for $169.99 @ Ralphs).

The selection of decent domestic sparklers was also slim (TJ's didn't carry anything I would care to drink).

I don't have any pizza wine left (just assorted bottles of 2010 Bordeaux), so I'll go for Wild Turkey 81 with and Anchor Steam chaser + one flute of the Mumm.

...is pretty good - you could do a lot worse.

TJ's has a good selection of inexpensive wines, much of it their own labels.

Safeway has a much better selection and even Veuve Clicquot.

  In reality is WAS a Rose (and a heavy handed one @ that) enjoyed by both of us (good with cheese pizza).
