I ordered a case after becoming a member.
I think it was a year wait. The Zin's were
good but expensive. What turned me off from
ordering the next year was the $60/case
shipping charge to NE Ohio. Let us know
your impressions of the wine.

So here's another question. Do you feel ripped off if you buy an expensive bottle and its not heavy? The Turley is expensive to ship because they use very heavy bottles.
Many wineries feel that the need to justify the higher price tag with a heavier (think more prestigious) bottle.
I think its silly. Its also horribly wasteful. That bottle takes more natural resources to make and the cost to ship both empty (from China or France or Mexico or possibly CA) or full is ridiculous in terms of dollars and damage to the planet.
I have resisted so far. I always think that the people who care about the prestige of a bottle aren't the people I want s customers anyway.

Am I right or wrong?

  I do not feel ripped off in that case.

  The case was also very strong and heavy.

...I've been drinking their wine since about 2003.

The arguably make some of the best zinfandel in CA, although they make about 20 different ones.

The Juvenile in the low $20 range seems about the best for the money.

But I think they are best with a few years of bottle age.

A friend whose wife used to be their banker brings over some spectacular 2007s and 2009s.
