...only 4 of us with 5 wines tasting while watching the Warriors beat the Cavs in game 4.
Tie for 4th and 5th place 17pts each
2012 Liberte' (TJs) $10
2012 Stemmler Carneros $20
3 - 11pts (big jump) - 2013 Sojourn Sonoma Coast $36
2 - 9pts - 2012 Artesa Carneros $16
1 - 6pts - 2012 Byron Santa Maria Valley $20
The Byron was obviously the favorite and a great value, but I would recommend any of the the top 3.
Follow Ups:
One of my "go to" wines when nothing else looks good. Don't know how they have fared since being bought out by a conglomerate, Jackson Family.
...apparently they've fared pretty well.
Or did the excitement of the game keep the wine flowing?
...yes, some wine left over, although not #1 or #2.
And a little throbbing in my head this morning.
Great game!
I don't know why but pinot noir gives me the worst day after of all grapes. Can't be the tannins because cab and merlot usually have more. Maybe histamines.
...usually pinot doesn't affect me more than other reds.
Instead of 5 partially filled glasses to taste, we tasted them one at a time (because of the game) and had to finish the glass before the next taste.
So it was just quantity.
by the end, dull taste buds.
