Their 2012 Chiles Mill got a 91 and with the 15% case discount making it $23 a bottle I figured why not.
The Carlisle is good.
Follow Ups:
...nice - that's really a good one year after year.
Carlisle has at least 5 zins in the ratings and a couple more that were in the store I went to.
I ended up with a couple of bottles each the 3 highly rated Carlisles, 4 of the 94pt Limerick Lane Russian River and 2 Chiles Mill all discounted and with an added 10% off for the case.
And it's cool that you have a store that has these wines before they're sold out.
...a friend poured this 94pt zin with dinner the other night.
It was very good and layered with fruit but didn't knock my socks off as I expected.
Seemed a little on the lighter side.
...fortunately I was in the wine shop a couple of weeks ago and saw 5 or 6 different Carlisles lined up in a display.
I recall you saying how much you liked them but I had no idea which were which.
Then the WS reviews came out and they still had a lot of them left.
Timing is everything.
I will probably cellar them for a couple of years before I drink them.
