I've noticed a lot less filtering going on in California. I guess it is a purist wine thing but I kind of miss the beauty of a clear glass of wine.

...Newton unfiltered chardonnay has been around for years and is always very good.
For unfiltered reds, I would decant them and let them settle.
Just saying that visual is part of the pleasure of drinking wine.
And some wines don't settle because the particulates are too fine. I just opened a couple of bottles from Cypher. They don't fine their wines and the bottles had been sitting for a few days before I opened them. Cloudy, but I still enjoyed the flavors and the nose.
...their Zin Bitch is my favorite.
They also have some good syrahs and blends.
Didn't realize they weren't filtered.
The Peasant and their grenache.
...haven't tried those unless they were pouring them in the tasting room.
I have a bottle or two of Anarchy in my cellar.
Catchy names.
