Does anyone know what the limit is currently? I can't get a straight answer from the Customs office. It's as if they're not sure, either. It seems to me that it's one liter of liquor or up to one gallon of wine.
Back in the late 1980s, I'm not sure if there even was a limit. I remember bringing 15 bottles, partly in a satchel and partly in our suitcases, and the Customs guy waved us through. That might've been the same trip when we brought some Swiss Vacherin cheese back, so maybe he just wanted us to move on.
:)
Follow Ups:
Used to be a 3% import/duty tax on anything over a liter, plus a federal (per bottle) tax that was like 25 cents, or so, per bottle.
My old government links are no longer active and I'm too lazy to search out the current ones.
