...our group of 6 held a blind tasting of Chianti Classicos.
3 of wines were reservas.
The winner by a good consensus was the 2009 Chianti Classico Castello di Bossi under $20 at Costco.
Recommended.

I am in NE Ohio and that wine is
$39 at Costco. Is that because
of shipping and/or state taxes?

...probably not shipping.
Are you sure it's the same wine?
I was in Costco today to check out
the Castello di Bossi@$39.99. It is
a 2007 Riserva and has a dark blue/gray label.
The WS rating was 93 with 100 being perfect.Jerry P

...mine was not a reserva.
Good to know. I think I've had that.
I'm something of a fan of Antinori wines. They make one called "Toscana" which runs about $18 and is very good. Ruffino also makes nice ones. I'm looking at a bottle of their 2004 C.C. Riserva Ducale gold label ("Oro"). I almost hate to open it, 'cause then it'll be gone!
...unfortunately we didn't have any Antinori or Ruffino in the tasting.
Guess no one saw one at Costco or BevMo.
The most expensive wine was a reserva at $39.
