Finally got on with Carlisle. I've always wanted to try their Zins.
Yet another winery with high shipping costs. I ordered 6 bottles and it averages $6 per bottle for ground shipping. What is the reasoning for this? Does it really cost this much or is it another way for wineries to make money?
Also got a "not yet" email from Saxum.

The more you ship, the better rate you receive from ups and fedex. It also depends on distance of course. For me to ship to Seattle is around $3 a bottle. And I get terrible rates. I suppose I could call and threaten to drop ups for fedex, but no reps ever call me back anyway.
Don't forget you have to pay extra for adult signature...even though in many cases UPS just dumps it on the porch anyway.
I personally don't add any profit to my shipping...my customers pays the actual costs. (yeah, I'm a shitty business person.)
Turley shipping was also $6 per bottle.
Turley also said that they would deliver
to All Ways Cool, Buffalo Shipping Post,
55 Degrees or Aero Packing for no charge.
These companies look like they ship wine
for distributors. Maybe anybody can use
them, I don't know. I will check with
them to see if they will ship just a case
and the cost next time I need CA shipping.
