...I was on the Turley list for about 10 years.
I used to buy every other year but didn't buy any the last two and have been dropped - there is still a waiting list to get on.
Turley still makes good zin, although like all the others it's variable from year to year and with each differetn blend and vinyard.
With the 2005s, I began to feel they were overpriced and too hyped. Those are now drinking pretty good but lack some of the complexity and panache of earlier vintages.
I haven't touched the 2007s yet - but that was a banner year for everything else.
No prices on your list of the 2009s. I drew the line at $40 but with the economic downturn, they may have rolled them back a little.
Buy your 10 bottles - if nothing else they are rare and have snob appeal. At their best, they are wonderful wines.
Follow Ups:
The lowest is Juvenile at $20, Old Vines $25, Dusi $42 and the
Dragon is the highest at $45.
...depending on the price level and quantities you buy.
Buy all 10 this year and your allocation will go up and you'll be offered some of the better, pricier ones, the vinyard designated.
I had a 2005 Dragon a couple of weeks ago - I think I got 3 in my allocation originally.
When I had a bottle of it a year ago, I recall it being a little too spicy and hot, hence the name. This year it was much more balanced and that Howell Mtn. richness came out. And I still have one left.
I'd say go for it all.
Our local wine shop sells a few bottles of Turley at a good mark-up. I suspect people come in and make trades.
