I just ordered some 2008 Siduri Pinots from Oregon. They seem really excited about the vintage.
Also got to go to a Staglin & Hourglass tasting at a local (major) wine store. Tried their latest offerings. Amazing what they want for their wines. They were good, but the price to quality ratio is hard to swallow. I did find it interesting that Staglin is doing these tastings. Didn't used/have to. They were also offering the estate wine at a discount. Hopefully this is a sign of future lowering of prices in California.

...has a cover article about wine prices coming down.
Both at the winery and restaruant levels.
If they all had wine pricings like these two it would be a better world.
Last week, after the Staglin tasting, we went and had dinner. A bottle of Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee 2005, decent wine, $32. The Louis Roederer Brut Champagne Premier was $35.
