I had a bottle of 2007 Foley Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir. Not a big fan of pinot noir in general but this one was enjoyable.
Follow Ups:
I wasn't a fan until a couple of years ago. I especially wasn't a fan after "Sideways" came out and made it chic to dismiss merlots.
But I've started to enjoy them. There is a relief from the big flavors of cabs and such that I'm starting to appreciate.
...to do well.
There are plenty of mediocre ones and only a handfull that are worth laying down for a couple of years.
By the way, next Saturday Siduri Winery is having a party in Napa to release their latest pinots - theme is beach party - Hawiian shirts and Jimmy Buffet music.
Unfortunately, we'll be in Santa Cruz.
The "2008 Sonoma County" isn't nearly as good as the '07. Their newsletter touted it as about the same. And I bought too much. I think I learned a valuable lesson.
