6 MP Canon your subject line implies information about? Here's something at least as interesting, in my opinion: would you believe a SEVEN color Epson printer already available on the Japanese market? The 7th coclor is "dark yellow" for "improved smoothness." Makes sense as the next logical step; they have two magentas and two cyans - why not also two yellows to go with the black ink? You can read more about it at http://home.cox.rr.com/meyerfamily/epson/hardware.html
My understanding is that Canon, Pentax, and Contax will have 6MP SLRs available this year. Nikon has already announced the D1X, 5.4MP interpolated in camera to 5.9MP.
Follow Ups:
......Nikon has already announced the D1X, 5.4MP interpolated in camera to 5.9MP.........I know when I scan slides into the puter & try any interpolation it makes the image softer, less sharp. Why would any serious photographer want a camera that claims an interpolated mega pixel? Is it the small amount 5.4mp to 5.9mp that makes it acceptable?

Personally, internal interpolation is B-A-D bad! If i wanted to play around to add FAKE resolution/pixels there are software solutions that will most probably do a much better job than the internal built-in camera solutions. IMHO the camera should simply have the ability to do a 1:1 output of the CCD/CMOS to whatever imaging software package you desire. THEN let us humans with software at our disposal to manipulate from there. Kodak has LONG been using interpolation BTW...

NO interpolation is acceptable IMHO as it generally seems to be used for the MARKETING GUYS to wave their flag about "high resolution numbers" versus TRUE photographic benefits.
Just my humble 2 yen.
