I plan to continue searching, but this is the first place I'm asking. We just got a new laptop with widescreen (I think 16 - 9 ratio or something like that) similar to widescreen TV format.

The problem I see is all graphics including websites or photos on CD are formatted for the traditional measurement 15" screen. With the widescreen - all the graphics are wider than they should be. In other words out of proportion for the "new" widescreen.

Perhaps there's a Window XP setting to correct the proportions? If anyone knows of it OR a software program that's XP Pro compatible to correct the proportions, please let me know. Thanks.

Especially when looking at cars, boats, stereo equipment or people. It makes cars look long and more squatty than they really are. It does the same for everything else too! Waaaa, waaaa.

You might go into your video driver (right click on clear background) and find out what resolutions you have to drive the display with. If you set it to one that matches your screen proportions you ought to do ok.
