After reading some post and audio rag articles, I am of the opinion that a PC based front-end could be an alternative/addition to a high-end system. If some of the more knowledgable people would be kind enough to break down of the basic technicial issues that would confront the average audiophile/musiclover into a FAQ type format, maybe, some(me) would be less hesitant to try a PC in our audio systems. Some will say a PC has no place in a high-End system. But, I am always looking for ways to derive more enjoyment from my listening experience. A PC front end holds that possability Not in the same way my recentlly added analog set up does. But,I think the ability to have much of you favorite music at your fingertips could do that. Wadda ya think?? Julien "There's someone in my head, but it's not me" |
Yah, lower power doesn't use it though, posted on April 20, 2005 at 16:15:58 | |

Like a laptop with a 3 watt CPU. haha I almost said 3 wpc, but its a monoblock. The next trick is a stable card for audio output. Now I think the problems from what I've seen with the laptop I've got is a stable voltage under all conditions, like, when a CD or DVD player is spinning. It was a couple years ago, but the owner of Norh (www.norh.com) had come up with a laptop solution for a music system front end. Check what's goin on at nortech, and maybe send an email and see waht's going on for audio front ends. |
