Been pesterin' Rod for this for a while now. All good things come
to those who wait.

Just finished reading Peter Mayle's "Hotel Pastis", a delightful,
easy read. I read that because for my birthday I got one of his
entitled "A Dog's Life", which every dog lover should read.

Started an Agatha Christie light night.

My backlog is growing, and am always on the lookout for recommends.

Good old Agatha. Always entertaining., posted on June 13, 2004 at 11:31:14
Picked up Leo Tolstoy's "Death of Ivan Ilytch" last night. The first few pages are a bit dry. We shall see. Just finished "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer, the true account of the tragic miscalculations of a young man, Alex McCandless, in the Alaskan wilderness. Very good book and somewhat of a self analysis by Krakauer. Got a book titled "The Cloud of Unknowing" written by an anonymous 14th century mystic. I'm going to wait and read this one in the middle of Winter when I've cloistered myself.

G'day Mike,
My wife has 1000s of Agatha Christies books, she just buys them every time she goes shopping even though most are just copies in different covers, she doesn't mind. Before going to sleep every night Emma reads some of Agatha Christies books until the ones by the bed fall apart and go in the bin. One of the stories is Mrs McGinties Dead and years ago when the book was new i went through and started writing Goat on the top of some pages so randomly the name changes to Mrs McGinties Dead Goat, can't think why i did it but there you go. Every time a goat page appears i hear a hoot of laughter which is quite comforting from the other side of the room.

She's just started Nemesis, not one i've heard of.

Regards
Paul
