...our wine tasting group of 6 blind tasted 6 zinfandels tonight.
Actually all of them were pretty good and the point spread was fairly close - every wine except #4 had a #1 vote and all but #3 and #4 had a 6th place vote.
We decanted them through a venturi and waited about an hour as they changed before rating them.
6. 24 pts - 2011 Montevina Terra D'Oro Deaver Vinyard Amador $23
5. 23 pts - 2008 Turley Haynes Vinyard $40
4. 22 pts - 2009 Steele Old Vines Lake Cty $18
3. 20 pts - 2010 Frank Family Napa $30
2. 18 pts - 2009 Caymus Napa $40
1. 14 pts - 2010 Green and Red Chiles Canyon $20 (91pts WS)
I brought the Frank Family and rated it #1. I had tried a bottle of the Green and Red previously and thought it was fruit bomb but rated it second here so I need to try it again.
