As soon as they got orders from you they went bankrupt. What about the poor bastard in Pouilly-Sur-Loire you ruined?

Is Jean-Paul okay for money? Maybe we should send Didier and Catherine some extra cash?

For the record, I thought Chaussard behaved childishly at the Loirefest at Angers. I happened to like his wines, particularly when he made them off-dry so they could retain fruit. His sweeter '97s were fabulous, as were a couple of his '95s. The dry '96s and '97 might make good laxatives, but that's another story.

Too bad he went in the toilet.

Too bad about Calcutt. But he seemed from the start like an unstable guy, if sweet. It's odd that he would work so hard for a few years and then just run away, however. I would still like to hook up with some bottles of Picrate, however. Maybe one of his drinking buddies will be selling them this winter. Terrific wines.

I fear for the security of the Puzelats.
