I've tried to put together a "decent" system on a budget starting from ground zero. I have a HK AVR 75, Paradigm MiniMonitors,Atoms, and a Used CC300. I know sometime down the road I will want to upgrade to an Amp, better speakers etc., however I'm looking to add a sub now within my limits. I've found the 8100X and the NHT S2Pi for $500. each. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated. I also have to replace a TV and buy a DVD so I really am trying to buy good to better and not better to best right now. I know the wisdom is to decide with your ears, but this may be a little more experience than I have a this time. I would want the most musical available. Thanks in advance! (Looking at the Panasonic CT32SF35 for the TV)
I've not heard velodyne ( I mean I've not auditioned). I had the nht sub until a few weeks back. Its musical and tight, but does not go very deep. Its more of a sub for music than for HT. Velodyne is more of a HT sub, I beleive. So, depending on your needs you can take your pick ....
the NHT is much more musical, definitely buy it. It'll rumble pretty well for HT too, not as good as the velodyne, but good enough, and it's musical.
Thanks for your comments....dg
