Decantering Wine-my experience

Posted by Freerider on November 9, 2004 at 06:37:11:

At home, we usually decant all the wine that we drink. We find that it takes less time to "open the wine up", and yes they don't last long this way (not an issue usually for us anyway ;-)

I had an interesting experience with this last week. I decanted a bottle, but we did not finish it that evening. I poured the rest back (from the decanter)into the bottle, and corked it. The next evening I drank the rest and it was better than the first time! Go figure.

YMMV
