and i can't say i've ever had a bad one in that $25 price range. depending on where you are... prices will vary some. probably a good discount place, or major wine merchant on the east coast of the US will be somewhat cheaper than out here in calif..
i think i've heard of san felice; can't say i remember it. but if you're into chianti at all, you probably know it comes as just 'chianti', or 'classico' - from the classico district within the broader chianti growing area, and as 'reserva', which is aged longer. and there are other nearby areas. for $25, you should be able to get a lot of classico reservas and because of the way the appelation is tightly controlled, they should all be good. vintages 97, 99, 00, 01 are all good, some great. i think 02 is a yr to avoid. wipeout. for producers, try some of these: antinori, coltibuono, brolio, nozzole, ricasoli, ruffino, banfi, caffagio... and there are more. honestly, i've never been burned on $20 chianti from a reliable source. there are also producers within the chianti area who blend in some cab or other grapes and because of that, can't call it chianti, so other tuscan reds are also pretty dang good. some far better - and more expensive - than straight sangiovese based wines.
