guidebooks, programs
Posted by Jim Cate on June 9, 2003 at 19:55:10:
Can someone recommend some guides, books, or software programs with wine recommendations, particularly of Cabs, Bordeaux, Chilean reds, etc? I would particularly like to have something that would be small enough to take with me to our local wine outlet and that I could refer to conveniently in the store to get general guidelines on more commonly available reds. (In other words, it would be nice to have a small, abbreviated guide with some form of ratings of generally available reds, rather than a comprehensive wine encyclopedia describing thousands of wines in great detail.) Also, are there any small, hand-held computers (PDA's) with such programs?
Or, for reference at home, is the Parker 6th edition wine book up-to-date (what's the publication date) and useful? Other suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
