Most digitals are designed to work fine with rechargables.....

Be careful with the 1.8 volt batteries as they may fry your camera.

My AA using cameras get NiMh rechargables or non-rechargable lithiums. My EOS cameras use rechargable lithiums which are small, light, and good for 500 - 600 shots between charges.
