Wine tasting in downtown Oakland?

Posted by mkuller on June 4, 2017 at 10:05:11:

...our wine tasting group with our wives went wine tasting yesterday on the downtown Oakland Urban Wine Trail.

We started at Rosenblum Cellars which is across from the Jack London Harbor Ferry stop. They had the best wine of the day - generous pours and a nice comfortable space with views of the water. At least 3 people joined their wine club with it's many events and free tastings.

The best thing about this wine trail is that we walked from winery to winery and they were all not very crowded on a Saturday afternoon. None charged more than $15 for a tasting and all applied it to a purchase.

After lunch at the Oakland Grill in the produce market, we went to Cerutti Cellars. Here they had a big room in the back with a band playing 80's dance music (on the first Saturdays of the month). The wine was ok but we had a great time.

Next was Urban Legend Cellars. They had a lot of unusual wines. I think I liked their barbera the best.

Finally we went to Dasche Cellars known for their zinfandels. Two of them were very good. They had a large patio outside with a guy playing music.

Finally we went to Desco, an Italian restaurant a few blocks uptown, for dinner.
