Speaking of pricey wine...

...I remember about 7 years ago I went wine tasting in Willamette Valley Oregon and was surprised by a $125 pinot noir from Archery Summit.

A few years later there was a $100 pinot noir from that area as well from Breaux Freres.

Now today looking in the current Wine Spectator at James Laube's recommended California pinot noirs, there are 9 rated between 93 to 96 points at $100 or more with the top price being $150.

For pinot noir - with little to no aging potential.

I blame "Sideways".
