Primitivo tasting...

...6 of us blind tasted 6 current primitivos, 4 from Italy (including Layer Cake 2012) and 2 from Napa.

Primitivo is close to zinfandel but is a little different grape.

The nose and flavors really changed over the hour and a half.

At the end we decided that none were really very good, but that the 2012 Hendry Block 24 $30 (which came in 2nd place) was the only one holding up and worth purchasing.
