Lots of wineries being gobbled up.

Today it was Patz and Hall, Earlier in the week it was Penner Ash. Recently here in town Seven Hills was sold to a larger company.

Brand seems to be the powerful word these days.

They always say that nothing will change and in some cases you may never notice the changes...larger companies have larger sales teams. A winery like Spring Valley goes from having one person think about domestic sales while he/she isn't making wine to a sales team thats 75 people strong in every corner of North America. Its good to be the king.
