Factory radio swap

I want to replace the factory am/fm tape Delco set in my '97 S-10 with factory am/fm CD set. What do I need to do about the "Theftlock" security code? I can get a decent Delco CD radio from a wrecking yard and they claim it's a DYI item per vehicle owners manual. Thanks and good luck.
