getting rid of two stroke johnson(50) oil resevour?

Does anyone have a procedure for eliminating the oil resevour on a 2 stroke 2000 model johnson (50hp) I need extra room in the gas/battery compartment and prefer to mix my own gas/oil. I know about the level sensor that goes to my oil tank but is there any other wires i need to open in order not to get alarm?
