Hello Fred! I loved your pics and narrative regarding the Melonseed. I'm building one using the strip method myself. I had a couple of questions: First - can you tell me how you determined the proper location of the transom relative to the last station mold? I can't seem to find a spot for the transom where the front edge of the transom lines up with the fairing strip at all spots on the transom where the strips will meet it.Also - I noticed you did not use any ribs. Can you tell me why and whether you regret going without them? I'm using the Barto plans which is a lapstrake model, but it has ribs. Do you think I could get away without them?
